After practicing law for a number of years, Paul Kremser and Peter Howard realized that civil litigation was anything but civil, and that instead of attempting to resolve disputes in a way which would maximize the benefits to the parties and bring closure to the disagreement, the system resembled warfare more than anything else.
Thus, in 1981, Kremser and Howard was born. We realized that disputes will always occur, but that resolving them efficiently and economically needed to be a priority, not an afterthought. That instead of simply preparing for battle, and telling our clients what we were going to do, we needed to work closely with them in order to fashion a constructive solution to their problem.
Over the years, the legal community has come to understand what we always knew - that litigation is not the answer to all legal problems and that other approaches, such as mediation, can often resolve disagreements more quickly and at less cost, both financially and emotionally.
While maintaining an active interest in dispute resolution, whether through litigation or alternative means, Kremser and Howard now offers a variety of other services to its clients.
Being a small firm helps. Clients deal with one attorney from start to finish, someone who is always accessible by phone or e-mail. However, being small in size doesn't mean being limited in what we can do. Thanks to the new technologies, including computerized legal research and the Internet, Kremser and Howard has access to virtually all of the same resources available to the larger firms---and we know how to use them.
